Gardening Compost Bins
What is more eco-friendly, a garbage dump or a box of compost?
I just moved to a new house and am doing everything I can to live a way that is less harmful to the environment, I have an unfinished basement that can eventually be used to store a compost bin, but no place to plant a garden, so I would'nt know what to do with the soil. A friend suggested that I leave the compost bin and just get a garbage disposal to deal with kitchen waste. Please help!
A compost bin – but you'll need at least a little life soil and a container of worms fishing to get things started. If it is shaken and soaked routine should not smell different from a smell of damp earth. You should never smell or stench of garbage. Only fruits, vegetables and grains should go in it, never put milk products oils, fats, meat or compost bin small. Use just "dirt" for flower pots or give it away.
