Gardening For Dummies

I want to learn how to grow vegetables?
What are the principles that I need to know to grow vegetables and fruit? Can anyone recommend a good book. Gardening for Dummies seems all about Planting Flowers.
Honestly, this site is the best I've seen on the Internet! It tells you how to grow virtually any vegetable you can imagine! But there are tons of sites out there, Google search so you can find what is best for you. Pick veggies that you eat. (I grew zucchini last year and was kicking it because nobody in my family eats! Lol) Tomatoes, peppers, watermelon, beans and lettuce are probably the easiest crops to grow. Make sure only a brief investigation each culture (I'm not talking about a research study, only general knowledge) so you know the soil conditions they need (usually good, well fertilized soil moisture), the amount of sunlight every needs (mostly full sun to vegetables), and how much they need watering. (I water mine about one cup per day during the summer, but some cultures require or less) Good luck all, it is very rewarding and great fun!
