How to transfer tomatoes from the garden for a vase?
I learned a little about Container Gardening in a brief class at my church, but discussed growing plants from seed or starting the store. I have a full grown tomato plant I want to bring inside.
It's much easier to go from one pot to a garden than the other way around. Remember that the roots in soil does not have to be confined to a pre-defined area. When you dig it is likely that the damage at least some of the roots. Be sure to dig and low enough to minimize damage and keep it well watered after transplanting until he gets over the shock. This transplantation is a high risk so do not be surprised if you lose the plant.
