cyclamen, roses indoor?
I just bought a vase and a small potted cyclamen rose. I put them on my window sill, but I'm very experienced in the area of gardening. Does anyone have any helpful hint in the best way I can take care of them? Iv been watering the two pouring water on trays, rather through the top of the soil. and iv been so remove any dead leaves, but because they are in for what I need for something in particular? There is a need fertilizer? and does anyone know how big I can expect them to grow? thank you very much x
The cyclamen will continue to flower for a short time and then the flowers will disappear and you stop watering for the plant to dry. When dried to the point where the leaves are brown (this is part of its normal cycle), you can put it outside in a sunny spot. Next August or September of putting it in fresh potting compost, plant very superficially, as it is now, then water it and bring it indoors again. If you are lucky it will start releasing leaves and start flowering again. The miniature rose is not so easy. These are really designed for short-term furnished and should be considered disposable. If you want to try to keep it for a few more months, then get a some fertilizer for potted plants, Miracle-Gro is good, keep the plant in a bright but not sunny position. Water when the surface has dried. Better not leave it in a pan of water. Mix the fertilizer for indoor plants strength (instructions on the bottle or box) and feed about once a fortnight, during the spring and summer, but only water in the fall and winter. It will be tricky to keep it going inside long run, you can plant it outside in a pot or the ground and can survive longer. good luck.
