Organic Gardening Beginners

What are the top books for Beginner gardening .. with all the basics?
I wish I knew some of the best Gardening Books beginner available (also new), which completely help the new gardener and for the first time. Starting a garden, to know exactly how much topsoil and bags other compost, peat – which is necessary. I have a project, is an 8 "x 8" circle, and I wonder how deep is the basic amount General to add to the soil, and how much. Also, I need to buy the bags to get my land all ready. Can someone please help this area? I go organic as possible in the first year – I realize in the coming years I'll learn more and have more of a compost pile, but basically a small base garden. Thanks so far in advance – angelique_mystic@yahoo.com Starr (if you care to email me with your help and advice too!)
I would be happy to help you but we can need to go and take a step back. The fact is that there is a perfect source and there is no way an absolute. You could probably just start your garden now and wait until you have a compost of your own. On the other hand is good to do some basic improvements in the bed of course if you are planning on any planting perennials. I do not bother with soil or peatmoss. You can buy bags of compost and manure. Not great but not totally useless want. You may wish to check mushroom compost. I did not use because I have my own compost, but I hear very good stuff. It's the kind of guy, but apparently very rich, so you do not need both. I do not know what is happening with your soil so that it can not be more specific. I do not know if you is planting vegetables or herbs or flowers or whatever and I do not know where you are I'm sorry if I sound kind of useless. Here are the titles of some books I found very helpful in my learning curve: Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Perennials (Rodale Books are generally good) Burpee's Gardener Reader's Digest Complete Illustrated Guide to Gardening These are general titles with a lot of basic information. They are not geared specifically organic, but they have been very helpful to me. I just take what I need to get my information elsewhere organic. I think it has some Rodale books on organic products, I just have not run across them. E-mail me through the answers, if you want, and tell me what you're looking to grow and that its climate and exposure and soil are similar and we will see if we can not give you a little more creative. I love seeing people doing gardening. It's the best thing I ever did for me.
