Parks and Recreation Department Lakeway aims to provide excellent parks, facilities and services to the Lakeway community. There are so many beautiful sceneries plus a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy. People are the guaranteed to have a time very relaxed and comfortable, with time throughout the year and large park always willing to help.
Top Parks
In Lakeway midtown only at the end of Dolphin Street, people will find Porpoise Park. The park has a playground where children can begin to play soccer, Frisbee and walk their dogs. The park is also great for afternoon picnics where families can simply put a blanket and watch the sunset.
The Canyonlands is the newest city park. The park takes its name for the beautiful canyon running through the area. The landscape is one of the best features of Canyonlands especially during autumn, when everything turns gold, orange and red. Spring is an ideal time to visit and where everything comes to life with beautiful flowers and plenty of green foliage. Department want to keep the park as natural as possible, with only minor reforms, such as banks and not other developments in the field.
Individuals get to enjoy the Rim Trail in Canyonlands. Canyon Trail is most suitable for the more experienced looking for more challenge. Dogs are allowed with leashes and there's really no need for investment especially hiking gear except for comfortable shoes and sturdy walking.
For families and individuals picnics, Park City is a great place with 64 acres of breathtaking. The park is at 502 Hurst Creek Road accessible via water as well from Hurst Creek Cove on Lake Travis. The park can be accessed freely by Lakeway residents but visitors must pay admission. City Park is open daily 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Fun activities in the park include two kilometers trails, bike paths and skate paths, a butterfly garden, playgrounds for children and preschoolers and a dog park.

Dragon Park is located at Rua Dragão only after the Village Square Shopping Center. The park is open daily 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.. It'sa great place to picnic and sports. There is a basketball court, volleyball and a soccer field and athletic enthusiasts Frisbee. Children can play on the swing set and playscape how parents can watch among laid blankets on the green grass comfortable spots nearby.
